In Astrology, foodstuffs intaken are judged from the 5^th house in the natal chart which is also the significator for the offspring. In the Zodiac, it is the sign Leo, the fixed fiery sign of Rajas nature ruled by the Sun which is the origin of terrestrial life and is also the significator of metabolic energy. The Sun is the typical male planet but the nature of the foodstuffs is determined by the influence of other planets and mathematical points in the Zodiac, either by deposition or by aspect. Therefore, a combined effect of these factors determines the nature of the foodstuffs which also determines the sex of the offspring i.e. it is a complicated process involving many factors and the final gender will be determined by the overruling factor which varies for different persons depending on their natal charts.

The disease Malaria owes its origin to the female mosquito Anopheles. In Astrology, origin all such creatures like mosquito are signified by the sign Scorpio, the fixed watery sign ruled by Mars. Scorpio is the 8^th sign in the Zodiac signifying death or in other words longevity. Mars is also signified as the source of vital energy of human body because it also rules over the 1^st sign Aries in the Zodiac which is the cardinal fiery sign signifying the start of life. Therefore, if in a natal chart the sign Scorpio is influenced by benefic planets of creative group as defined in Astrology, the native is likely to survive from an attack of malaria. Thus, Astrology provides the proper explanation for this research output.

Although the research work arrived at the conclusion at titled above, but the seasons themselves are controlled or in other words determined by the transits of the Sun in the different signs of the Zodiac. Thus in India, the six seasons viz. the Summer, Rain, Autumn, Pre-winter, Winter and Spring each comprised of two months are determined by the transits of Sun starting from the Sign Aries in order. But in other countries particularly of western world some seasons overlap but these are also signified by the transits of Sun. In Astrology, the Sun is considered as the main planet and therefore this research work indirectly arrives as the conclusion that life is controlled by the planets and the stars.

In Astrology, mother’s womb as well as the mother herself is signified by the Moon which is also responsible for growth and nutrition of human body. Moon also signifies the upper layer of mind. Brain is signified by the Sun which is also the significator of father and the deeper layer of mind. Saturn is the chief significator of depression. Therefore, during the pregnancy period, if the minds of the mother and/or the father be disturbed for any reason or if in their natal charts the Moon and/or the Sun be afflicted by Saturn, the baby is highly likely to have its growth low and in turn its mind may also be disturbed due to depression. Thus, Astrology furnishes the proper explanation to this research work.

Self-criticism is the characteristic of Saturn which makes any native tending to approach perfection as human being through sorrows of all kinds. This is why Saturn is designated as the rectifier of human beings in the planetary kingdom. Saturn being a hermit planet and self also signifying servants makes the native usually unhappy in material world. Therefore, if in a natal chart Saturn be strong and free from afflictions be other malefics and blessed by natural benefics, the concern native usually becomes unhappy in life and tries to search for the causes underlying this unhappiness and thereafter tries to rectify himself for approaching perfection. In Astrology, infants are signified by Mercury while naughty people are mostly signified by Rahu and nice one’s by benefic planets like Jupiter, Venus, strong Moon, benefic Sun etc. Mercury owns the signs Gemini and Virgo in the Zodiac. Gemini, the dual airy sign of Sattwik nature, being the 3^rd house of Kalapurusha Chakra signifies common-sense while Virgo, dual earthy sign of Sattwik nature, being the 6^th house signifies practical senses, rationality, instincts etc. In Astrology, it is said that only Mercury can control Rahu. The logic behind this saying is that Mercury being termed as the child planet in the Zodiac possesses pure and impartial Sattwik common-senses and instincts which can only distinguish a dishonest man from a good one.

Thus, Astrology provides a suitable explanation for this research work.

In Astrology, walking which is a sort of physical exercise is signified by Mars. Mars is the lord of the first sign Aries and the 8^th sign Scorpio in the Zodiac. Aries signifies the start of life cycle of human beings and being the cardinal fiery sign signifies the activity of creation. Impotence male being is signified by Saturn and Mercury since Saturn signifies hermits and Mercury the children both of which are not involved in reproductive functions. In the astrological classification of planets, Mars is considered as bitter enemies for Saturn and Mercury and vice-verse. Therefore, strengthening the function of Mars in the human body through physical exercise is likely to reduce the functions of Saturn and Mercury thereby decreasing the probability of getting impotent thus providing a support to this research work from astrological view point.

Astrologically, brain is signified by the Sun which is the origin of the entire nerve system in the human body. Sun is also the significator of eye sight and particularly the right eye. Therefore, act of seeing an object is related to the Sun and the Moon and therefore in turn to the brain of the human body. Thus, the research study is explained from astrological view point.

In Astrology, the Zodiac signifies human beings in general. The 1^st sign Aries is the starting point of Zodiac and therefore signifies the Ascendant. Therefore, the 7^th sign Libra signifies the corresponding spouse. Aries being the cardinal fiery sign ruled by Mars, the typical young male planet signifies male natives in general while Libra, the cardinal airy sign ruled by the typical female planet Venus signifies female beings in general. The trait simplicity is related to mentality. For Aries Ascendant i.e. male beings, the 4^th house signifying the upper layer of mind is ruled by Moon signifying emotions and heart while the 5^th sign Leo signifying the depth of mind is ruled by the Sun signifying generosity, broadness of mind, idealism etc. In other words, male natives have broader mind and active emotion level are simple in nature but for Libra Ascendant i.e. female beings in general, the 4^th and the 5^th houses are the signs Capricorn, cardinal earthy sign and Aquarius, fixed airy sign respectively, both being ruled by Saturn, the typical significator of calculative, practical and to some extent narrow minded. The Sun and the Moon belong to creative group of planets while Saturn belongs to the destructive group in the astrological classification of planets which means that mental evolution of male beings are much more than that of female beings. Thus, the research work is properly explained from the astrological view point.

Astrologically, Jupiter signifies the ethical sense and behavior while Rahu signifies pretensions, cheating, power mongering, greed etc. Saturn also signifies hypocrisy if weak and afflicted. Jupiter also when debilated signifies the opposite traits i.e. pretension of ethical behavior, outward religious expressions etc. The probability is increased to a high degree when malefic Rahu and/or Saturn form a relation with Jupiter. In that case, people expressing ethical words and outward activities are, in fact, opposite in character making themselves high class cheats. Thus, this research study finds a suitable explanation from astrological point of view.

Memory is related to the nerve system of human body. Brain is the origin of the entire nerve system. In Astrology, Sun signifies the brain while Mercury and Saturn form the nerve system together with Moon which signifies the sensitivity. Sleep is signified by Saturn as also the 8^th house and its lord in the natal chart. When Sun is afflicted due to over-work, the brain gets exhausted causing the nerve system weak and thereby making the memory also weak. In such a case, a sound sleep awarded by Saturn strengthens the nerve system leading to strengthening memory which is the outcome of this research work.

In Astrology, communication is judged from the 3^rd house in the natal chart which also signifies lungs and a part of the heart. In the Zodiac, it is the 3^rd sign Gemini, dual airy sign ruled by Mercury. Mercury is also the significator of both way communication and skill. Handwriting being the very prominent mode of communication is also signified by the 3^rd house and its lord in the natal chart, the sign Gemini and the planet Mercury. Therefore, at any stage of life handwriting may be the reflector of heart condition as both are controlled by the same factors. Thus, this work is explained from astrological view point.

In Astrology, immune system in human body is controlled by Mars while the disease cancer owes its origin to the Dragon’s head i.e. Rahu. A strong immune system in the human body signifies strong and unafflicted Mars in the natal chart of a native and therefore it possesses strong control over the function of Rahu in the body thereby reducing the probability of developing cancer in the human body, thus providing a support to this research work from the astrological view point.

In Astrology, nails, hair, teeth, roughness and loss of blaze of skin etc. are ruled by Saturn which is also the main significator of mental stress. Therefore, an afflicted or weak Saturn in a natal chart, particularly if related with the Ascendant and/or its lord, Moon and Sun brings about mental stress which is reflected in the body through nails etc., especially during the phase or sub-phase of Saturn and/or its transit with the Ascendant etc. Thus a suitable explanation is provided in terms of Astrology for this research work.

In Astrology, the sign Cancer and its lord Moon signify mother as also the breast portion in the physique and the mother’s breast milk as well. In our planetary kingdom related with the Zodiac, Moon is the quickest moving planet and also the significator of feeling, sensitivity, and outward expression of behaviour related with public etc. which are essential for smartness of a child. Therefore, a strong and unafflicted Moon as well as the sign Cancer in a natal chart provides the child with sufficient breast milk of mother and in turn makes the kind sensitive, softhearted, quick acting both physically and mentally and thus rendering it smarter compared to others who do not get the same. Thus, the research work is supported by astrological principles.

In Astrology, communication is judged from the 3^rd house in a natal chart which in the Zodiac is the sign Gemini, mutable airy sign ruled by Mercury. Mercury is the significator of all sorts of skills and memory based learning, analytical mind, common-sense and rationality. Therefore, strong and unafflicted Mercury as also the signs Gemini and Virgo ruled by Mercury in a natal chart makes the native skillful in learning and at the same time causes the native’s handwriting attractive. Thus the research work is explained properly in terms of Astrology.

Astrologically, exercise or physical labour which is the expression of vital energy is signified by Mars. In the Zodiac, Mars rules over the signs Aries and Scorpio. Aries, the cardinal fiery in nature being the 1^st sign of the Zodiac signifies the head and its active functions like the flames of fire and Scorpio, the fixed watery sign being the 8^th sign of the Zodiac signifies mental energy like undercurrent in water. Therefore, exercise of any sort of physical labour enhances the activity of head and brain, also signified by the Sun, the source of all energies in our solar system of which Mars is the outward expression. Thus, the research work finds a support from the astrological principles.

In Medical Astrology, Rahu is the significator of all extra growths like tumor. Astrologically, Rahu is also the significator of all sorts of obstructive as well as enhancing activities. In the human body, brain is signified by the Sun. Therefore, a relation of Rahu with Sun in the natal chart while causing extra growths like tumor in the brain also leads to enhancement of brain function. Since, genes in human body are operative immediate after the birth, therefore the brain activity of such a native starts increasing from early age although the tumorous growth may take the shape at later age thus receiving the support from astrological reasoning.

In this era, Astrology has become a much disputed subject for several reasons viz. (1) the ancient sages and scholars narrated the effects of planets and the Zodiac without furnishing the underlying reasons and in that too, there are differences in opinion among the scholars. (2) In this era of rapidly advancing discoveries, no concrete research scheme to find the scientific basis of Astrology has been undertaken except some very few personal efforts and that too in western countries of whom the most prominent are Percy Seymour and Michel Gauquelin. But due to their limitations in this discipline and particularly of Hindu Astrology, their efforts could not find the proper clues in this job. It has become a practice of very pride on the part of some scholars and intellectuals without going into the depth of this subject to underestimate it as being of without any material scientific basis. But I am sorry to comment that this outlook is only pseudo-scientific in nature because if it be unscientific to accept anything without any test, it is equally so to reject the same without test and this is more serious when it is committed by scientists. Dr. B. V. Raman, the pioneer astrologer of this era in India defined Astrology as “Mother of all sciences and essence of all philosophies”. With all my due respects for him, my humble opinion in this respect is that it would be perhaps more appropriate to define this subject as “Synthesis of all branches of science and essence of all philosophical principles” because the Zodiac in the sky is the basis of philosophical outlook of this subject while the planets, satellites, the two luminaries viz. the Sun and the Moon together with the mathematical points in the Zodiac viz. Dragon’s Head and Tail are related with the different disciplines of science. These two factors are combinedly reflected in the palm of a native the results of which have been described in different works of Palmistry which is but a translation of Applied Astrology in a different language.

In this book, I have not tried to find the scientific basis of Astrology which will be taken up in some subsequent works; but what I have tried in this book is to correlate a number of scientific research works conducted in different countries on the corresponding disciplines of science with the astrological principles. Perhaps, it will be treated as a childish adventure on my part to write a book on such a complicated and disputed subject by the respected authorities on these subjects which I will never venture to contradict, but my sole intention behind this is to draw the attention of the respective authorities in this matter so that they may be kind enough to utilize their wisdom for the progress of such a subject making the necessary corrections in my works which might have been resulted out of my limitations.

Scientific Researches in Astrological View

In Genetics, a single gene is said to be responsible for many apparently unrelated traits and also one particular trait may have its origin to a number of genes. Similarly in Astrology, planets and other stellar bodies have been described to impose their actions on physical body, mind and spirit of the native which may be seemingly unrelated and one particular characteristic of a native may develop due to the actions of a number of factors which are apparently unrelated. For example, the Sun is said to signify the father which is also signified by the 10^th house in the natal chart of a male being and the fourth house for a female being. Similarly, Mars while signifying younger brothers also signifies the military, police etc. which are not related in usual sense. But a minute scrutiny of the characteristics of the planets or the stellar bodies in general will reveal the underlying mutual relations of them. The research works which have been selected by me in this book were published in Times of India starting from November, 2007 to July, 2011 on different aspects of human being relating to the above mentioned three planes of consciousness for relating with astrological principles. Errors, if any in this effort are entirely due to my personal limitations in these ocean-like vast subjects and not due to the inaccuracy of Astrology. I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my associates and friends who have helped me to undertake this responsibility of writing and printing the book. In spite of all my efforts to make the works free from printing mistakes and the errors originating from the limitations of my personal knowledge and conceptions on this subject, there remain ample chances for such errors which, if pointed by the learned readers with their invaluable comments, this humble author will remain ever grateful to them and their valuable suggestions will be included in the next edition of this book.
